KOver 60's secured their place in the semi finals of the national competition, with a 29 run win over Sussex at Horsham CC.  Asked to bat first on a damp but good wicket, Glos'shire got off to an excellent 133 run opening partnership, before Bill fell for 75.  Runs continued through the top order batsman, but the whole innings was held together with an excellent 105 off 133 balls from Danny batting at the top.  Glos'shire eventually finished on 281 for 6 off their 45 overs, which was an excellent effort all round.

Sussex were never going to be push overs and got off to a cracking start scoring 91 off the first 17 overs before losing their first wicket to a superb running one-handed catch in the deep by Clarkie.  After 30 overs Sussex were still on course scoring 152 having only lost 2 wkts.  But a tight bowling spell by Bill, JT and Thorny, backed up with some good 'death' bowling from Mike Hewitt, restricted the free flowing score rate, and Sussex eventually finished on 252 for 5 which was 29 runs short.

The win is rewarded with a home tie against our old friends Somerset in the semi's, who beat Essex in their quarter final by 13 runs.

It was an excellent day for Glos'shire, who have the right balance in the side now to go all the way this year.

So C'mon Glos !
